Concert etiquette and rules in Korea

Last checked: 15 October 2026

Rules at Korean concerts are set by each venue and show. Four things hold almost everywhere: professional cameras are banned, many venues allow no food or drink except water, entry can be restricted once the show has started, and reselling or transferring tickets is prohibited. Phone filming ranges from banned outright to allowed only during the encore. Read the precautions section of your show's notice before you go.

Photos and recording

Filming rules differ the most. For Jannabi at KSPO DOME in October 2026, bringing in or using professional cameras and filming gear was banned outright; on the floor, phone filming was banned except during the encore, and in the stands, holding a phone above your head could draw staff attention. The notice also warned that official filming might capture the audience.

Some venues ban it altogether: BLUESQUARE prohibits all filming and recording during a show unless agreed in advance, and whether curtain-call photos are allowed depends on the show. At MyK FESTA (KINTEX, June 2026), professional cameras were not allowed in the seating area and had to go to KINTEX's baggage storage.

Food, drink and bags

  • YES24 LIVE HALL: no food or drink except bottled water of 500 ml or less; about 400 coin lockers; non-smoking throughout.
  • BLUESQUARE: only capped water may be brought in and drunk; food and bouquets go in lockers.
  • We found no official prohibited-items list for the big arenas; check your show's notice.

If you are coming straight from the airport, leave big bags at your hotel first; venue lockers are limited.

Late arrival and entry

BLUESQUARE restricts entry after the show starts; you may be seated elsewhere or not admitted, so be in your seat 10 minutes before. NOL World says whether you can enter late depends on the show, and late arrivals may not reach their seat until the interval.

In standing areas you stay inside your assigned section (구역) (BLUESQUARE). See Reading seat labels for how entry numbers work.

Age limits

Each show sets its own. MINHO and WayV in 2026 were "ages 7 and above (born in 2019 or earlier)", Kep1er's fan-con 8 and over, and MyK FESTA 8 and over, with 8- to 11-year-olds needing a ticketed guardian. BLUESQUARE refuses under-age fans even with a guardian. Some shows count full age and others birth year, so read the conditions carefully if you bring children.

Transfers and resale

Every ticket site bans trading outside official channels and proxy buying. Ticketlink's global pages state that "tickets are valid for the named purchaser only. Commercial resale is strictly prohibited." Some shows check that booker and attendee match, so a passed-on ticket may not get you in. More in ID checks at Korean concerts.

FAQ

Can I take photos with my phone?

It depends on the show. Some venues ban all filming (BLUESQUARE, for example), some shows allow it during the encore, and some set different rules by seat (Jannabi, 2026). Check the precautions in your show's notice.

Can I bring banners or fan boards?

We found no official venue rules on slogan or board sizes. Shows sometimes cover this in their notices, so check there.

Does my lightstick have to be official?

We found no official statement limiting fans to official lightsticks. Wireless light shows synced to the stage are a feature of official lightsticks, though. See Lightsticks and Bluetooth pairing.
