ID checks at Korean concerts: what to bring

Last checked: 15 October 2026

Bring your original passport. When a Korean show checks ID at pickup or entry, a passport is in practice the only ID a visitor without Korean documents can show, and many shows state outright that copies, photos and phone screenshots are refused. It also matters that the name on the booking account matches your passport, and that you can pull up your booking number (on screen or printed) quickly.

What to show

NOL World tells buyers that "identity verification may be conducted at the venue" and to bring a valid photo ID. YES24's English site requires a physical, valid passport plus the booking confirmation for pickup. A TWS fansign announced by Weverse Shop in October 2026 listed "Passport, Residence Card" as ID for non-Koreans and said photos, printed copies or phone screenshots of ID would not be accepted.

Foreigners are also required to carry their passport at all times in Korea (Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs), so don't leave it in the hotel safe on show day.

Where ID gets checked

Ticket pickup

Tickets set to "pick up at venue" are collected at the box office with the booking number and ID. NOL World says pickup opens one hour before the show, on the day only. YES24 also allows pickup on show day only and warns that an account name different from the passport can cause trouble.

At the entrance

Some shows check again at the door. For Jannabi at KSPO DOME in October 2026, floor seats required the booker's original ID, checked again at a separate entrance, and the booker had to attend (with at most one companion). NMIXX and Xdinary Heroes at INSPIRE Arena in November 2026 (NOL World) admitted only when booking details and the attendee's ID matched exactly.

Wristbands

Some shows swap the ID check for a wristband you wear to enter. NOL World's Play&Stay package for BOYNEXTDOOR at KSPO DOME (July 2026) verified every guest and then issued wristbands for entry.

Proxy pickup and companions

Rules vary a lot. NOL World's general FAQ says someone else may collect a pickup ticket with the printed booking details and the purchaser's ID and booking number, but venues and shows can restrict this. At ByeonWooSeok's fan meeting in July 2026 (Ticketlink), floor and level-2 seats could only be collected by the buyer or immediate family who could prove the relationship.

If you booked for a friend too, check the show's entry conditions. Where booker and attendee must match, each person needs their own booking.

Show-day checklist

  • Original passport, not expired.
  • Account name spelled exactly as on the passport (NOL World says a different name order still gets you in).
  • Booking number and confirmation; a printout or power bank in case your phone dies.
  • For mobile tickets, check the day before that you can log into the app.
  • Arrive early for pickup; box-office queues build up.

Ticket-site "passport verification" is for buying and doesn't replace the check on the day. Bring the same passport (Passport verification).

FAQ

Will my driver's licence or national ID card work?

Official notices list the passport (or a residence card for residents) as ID for foreigners. We found no official notice accepting foreign driving licences or national ID cards, so bring your passport.

Can I show a photo of my passport?

Assume not. The Jannabi notice and the TWS fansign notice both state that copies and photos are not accepted.

If I am turned away at the ID check, do I get a refund?

Ticketlink's notices say bringing valid ID is the attendee's responsibility and tickets refused entry because identity couldn't be verified are not refunded on the day.

Do children need ID?

Shows with age limits may ask for proof of age, so children should carry their own passport. How the limit is written (full age or birth year) also differs by show.
