Trip Q&A
Passport verification on Korean ticket sites: when and how
You only need passport verification (eKYC) for shows whose ticket page carries a "Verified Member Only" label; those shows can only be bought from a verified account. It takes a few minutes on a phone: you photograph your passport, then your face. Your name and date of birth are locked once you have verified, and the sites get busy right before a sale, so NOL World and YES24 ask you to finish at least one or two days before tickets go on sale.
Which shows need it?
Organisers switch passport verification on show by show to stop scalping and buying under someone else's name. NOL World (formerly Interpark Global) and the YES24 English site mark these shows "Verified Member Only"; Ticketlink Global uses "Verified Members Only" and introduced the check in June 2026. Melon Ticket Global used it too: for NCT 127's KSPO DOME shows in September 2026, only passport-verified accounts could buy.
If a show has no such label, you can buy without verifying. It varies within the same site, so what applied to your last show tells you nothing about the next one.
- NOL World sells 47 of the 92 K-pop shows in our calendar.
- Ticketlink Global sells 28 of the 92 K-pop shows in our calendar.
- YES24 Ticket sells 18 of the 92 K-pop shows in our calendar.

Of the 92 shows, we have confirmed that 58 are listed on the seller's overseas (global) site.
Our seller guides walk through each site from sign-up to collecting the ticket: NOL World, Melon Ticket, YES24 and Ticketlink.
How verification works
Every site follows the same pattern, passport scan and then a face check, with slightly different screens.
NOL World
Tap "Verified Member Only" on the show page and scan the QR code with your phone. On the phone, accept the privacy and KYC terms, confirm your email with a code, pick your nationality, photograph your passport, check the details it read, then take a face photo. A "Buy Ticket" button then appears on the show page.
YES24 (English site)
Start from the show page or from My Info → Verify Account. There are three steps: choose your country, scan your foreign passport, then face recognition, on a computer or a phone. If your status stays "Declined" or "Pending", YES24 asks you to email global_yesticket@yes24.com.
Ticketlink Global
Click "Verify Identity", scan your own valid passport with your phone camera, then take a selfie. The check is run by an outside provider, ARGOS, which receives the passport image, your English name, gender, date of birth, nationality, expiry date and face images.
Why verification fails or can't be redone
- Photos, copies and screenshots of a passport are rejected; NOL World and YES24 need the original, unexpired passport.
- A name on the account that differs from the passport makes it fail. Register in the exact Latin-letter spelling on your passport.
- NOL World accepts English names only. If your passport name has other characters or symbols, you file a name-correction request, and a "Pending Admin Approval" review can take up to 24 hours.
- One passport verifies one account. On NOL World you have to delete the first account before the passport can verify another.
- Korean passports are not accepted; the sites run separate procedures for overseas Koreans.
After verifying, NOL World locks your name, date of birth and email; YES24 also locks nationality and gender. Check your details before you start. Ticketlink may change the name on your payment details to match the passport, and you contact customer service to verify again if your passport is reissued.
When to do it
NOL World and YES24 both ask you to verify at least one or two days before the sale opens; NOL World warns that traffic near opening time can make verification fail.
Shows with a fan-club presale need you to be ready even earlier. Ticketlink's 2026 notices for MINHO, WayV and YESUNG asked fans to finish passport verification before the fan-club verification window opened. Fan-club verification, such as linking your Weverse membership, is a separate step with its own window.
Verified or not, bring the passport
Verification is for buying; it doesn't replace the ID check at the venue. Bring the same original passport for box-office pickup and entry. More in What ID to bring to a Korean concert.
FAQ
Do I have to verify again for every show?
No, not on NOL World: you verify once per account and it applies to later "Verified Member Only" shows. YES24 and Ticketlink also verify the account, but Ticketlink asks you to verify again if your passport is reissued.
Can I upload a photo of my passport?
No. NOL World and YES24 reject photos, copies and screenshots; you scan the original, valid passport live.
I spotted a typo in my name after verifying. What now?
You can't edit your name or date of birth yourself after verifying. On YES24, deleting the account erases the verification so you can verify a new account (accounts with violations can't be deleted). Whichever site it is, contact its support first.
Does verifying guarantee me a ticket?
No. It only unlocks the Buy button for those shows. For sale day itself, see Sale-day tips for Korean ticket sites.
Are fees different for verified shows?
Ticketlink says shows that need passport verification carry a ticket service fee of 8,000 won, which can vary by product. NOL World's fee for concerts is 8,000 won, rising to 9,000 won from 16 November 2026.
