Trip Q&A
Sale-day tips for Korean ticket sites: the queue and what to prepare
Most of the work happens before sale day: create the account, finish passport and fan-club verification if the show needs them, and set up 3D Secure on your card. On the day, use one account on one device in one browser, and once you are in the waiting room, don't refresh. Do those two things and you won't lose your place through your own mistake. Sale times are in Korea time (KST, UTC+9).
What to finish before sale day
- Make an account on each site you will use. NOL World, Melon Ticket Global, YES24 and Ticketlink Global all have separate accounts, separate from their Korean sites too.
- For "Verified Member Only" shows, verify your passport one or two days before the sale (NOL World and YES24's advice). See Passport verification.
- If there is a fan-club presale, verify your membership within its window. Global and Korean pages can run different schedules, and on Ticketlink, verifying on the global page means you can only buy the presale on the global page.
- Set up 3D Secure and make sure the site takes your card brand (When your card fails).
- Read the show page for the sale time (KST), the per-person limit, how tickets are issued and the cancellation deadline.
Limits are set per show. On big K-pop shows sold by Melon Ticket Global and Ticketlink, a common pattern was one ticket per person in the fan-club presale and two per person per show in the general sale, presale tickets included.
Keeping your place in the queue
NOL World says every product has a queue and that refreshing resets your place. Its official advice:
- Don't refresh, close or leave the queue page.
- Don't switch apps, devices or windows, and keep the screen awake.
- Use a stable connection and no VPN; a VPN may get you treated as a bot.
- You get one queue number per account. Taking a number on another device or browser closes the first one.
- Seat maps update by themselves; there is no need to refresh.
Ticketlink adds that opening the booking pop-up any way other than "Book Now", toggling airplane mode or reconnecting, an unstable connection, staying too long or refreshing too often all lead to a restricted-access page, and that opening the booking in several browsers at once stops you moving on.
Site-by-site differences
NOL World
Use the latest Chrome or Edge. On some phones, such as the Galaxy Fold, seat selection fails on the mobile web, so use the app. If you run several accounts or another site at the same time, use separate browsers or devices, not tabs.
Melon Ticket Global
You type a security code (CAPTCHA-style) when choosing seats. Big K-pop sales often open at 20:00 KST. According to guide sites, you get about five minutes to pay once seats are picked.
Ticketlink Global
The official method is to wait on the show page and refresh (F5) when Ticketlink's clock reaches the opening time; "To Be Sold" then turns into "Reserve". "Clean Reservation" shows ask for a captcha before seat selection. Seats are held for 8 minutes after you click Next.
YES24 (English site)
The FAQ's advice: allow pop-ups for ticket.yes24.com, turn off ad-blockers, and try incognito mode or another browser if the booking window won't open. Some shows require a CAPTCHA.
If you don't get a ticket
NOL World runs a booking waitlist: when a seat comes up, you have six hours to pay before it passes to the next person. For shows not sold on a global site, see Where are K-pop tickets sold?.
Proxy-booking services, macros and trading outside the official sites are banned everywhere. On NOL World they can mean a booking ban of three months or more, a permanent suspension and cancellation of all your tickets.
FAQ
Is a computer better than a phone?
The sites don't say one is better; many guides recommend a computer. What matters is not using one account on several devices at once (on NOL World the earlier queue number is closed).
What time is the sale in my time zone?
Sale times are KST (UTC+9). Japan is the same; Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore are one hour behind; subtract 9 hours for UTC.
My queue number is huge. Is it worth waiting?
NOL World says a queue number doesn't guarantee a ticket. But closing or refreshing sends you to the back, so if you wait, stay put.
Can I buy for a friend?
Some shows allow several tickets within the limit, but fan-club presales are often one per person, and some shows require the buyer and the attendee to be the same person (a Ticketlink fan-meeting example). Check the show page.
