How to buy tickets on Melon Ticket Global
Melon Ticket Global (tkglobal.melon.com) is the overseas version of Kakao Entertainment's Melon Ticket. It sells big K-pop concerts and fan-club presales to fans abroad, with pages in English, Japanese and Chinese. Its FAQ says the global service is for foreigners living outside Korea.
Not every show on the Korean Melon Ticket site is sold on the global site. When one is, the global page can run on its own schedule, with separate fan-club verification windows and presale times.
16 of the 106 upcoming shows we list are sold by Melon Ticket Global.
Step by step
- Create a global accountSign up with your email and your English name exactly as it appears in your passport. No Korean phone number is needed.
- Set up 3D SecureRegister your Visa, Mastercard or JCB card with your bank's 3D Secure service before sale day. Korean-issued cards don't work.
- Read the show pageCheck the sale time (KST), the ticket limit, whether passport verification is required and how tickets are handed out.
- Fan-club presale?Verify your membership in the window shown on the global page. Its dates can differ from the Korean page.
- Book and type the codePick seats, enter the security code and pay without delay; guides say seats are held for only about five minutes.
- Collect on the dayFor most concerts, take your passport and booking confirmation to the box office. Only the buyer can collect.
Account and name
The global site has its own accounts, so you don't need a Korean Melon account (that one needs a Korean phone number or an I-PIN identity check). Sign up with an email address and type your English name exactly as it is printed in your passport: at pickup the booking name has to match the passport, and if it doesn't you can't collect the tickets.
Passport verification and fan clubs
Whether you must verify your passport depends on the show. For NCT 127's September 2026 concerts at KSPO DOME, only accounts that had completed passport verification could buy, and it had to be done before purchase. Other listings only check that the passport name matches when you collect.
Fan-club presales are open only to verified official fan-club members, who verify in a set window before the presale. For EXO PLANET #6 the global verification ran from 20 August 14:00 to 28 August 23:59 KST, and the global presale opened at 20:00 KST on 28 August. Go by the dates on the global page, not the Korean one.
Payment
Credit cards only, and they must be issued outside Korea: Visa, Mastercard, JCB and UnionPay. Every brand except UnionPay requires 3D Secure, so register your card with your bank before sale day. Prices are listed in Korean won.
The booking fee is set per show; NCT WISH's 2025 tour charged ₩7,000 per ticket on the global page. Big K-pop shows usually allow two tickets per person per show in the general sale (fan-club presale tickets count towards that) and one in the fan-club presale.
Sale day
Sale times are Korea time (KST, UTC+9), and big K-pop sales often open at 20:00. You type a security code when selecting seats, which is there to stop automated booking. Guides describe a countdown followed by a waiting queue, and warn that refreshing or closing the page can send you to the back.
- Allow pop-ups for the site. One fan reports missing a sale because they were blocked.
- Have your bank's 3D Secure app or password ready before the sale opens.
- Work out the opening time in your own time zone the day before.
Getting your tickets
For most concerts on the global page, tickets can only be collected at the venue. Bring a valid physical passport and your booking confirmation; on EXO PLANET #6, tickets could not be collected by anyone other than the buyer, or if the buyer's identity couldn't be checked.
Some events work differently. The XMF 2026 festival used mobile QR tickets only, exchanged for a wristband at the booth on showing your ID. The show page says which applies.
Cancelling
Each show page has its own fee table. On NCT 127's 2026 listing: free within 7 days of booking; from day 8 until 10 days before the show, ₩4,000 per ticket or 10%, whichever is higher; then 10% from 7 days before, 20% from 3 days before, 30% the day before, and 90% on the day where same-day cancellation is allowed. The booking fee comes back only if you cancel by 23:59 KST on the day you bought. Once tickets have been handed over they can't be cancelled, refunded or reissued.

Common pitfalls
- Trying the Korean site (ticket.melon.com). It needs a Korean phone number or I-PIN verification, which most visitors can't do.
- A booking name that doesn't match your passport exactly.
- Leaving 3D Secure until the sale: a failed authentication costs minutes you don't have.
- Following the fan-club dates on the Korean page; the global window can differ.
- Planning to pass a ticket to a friend. Transfer and resale are banned, and some events have switched off gifting too.
- Confusing it with Ticketmelon, an unrelated company with its own app. We found no separate Melon Ticket Global app; guides point overseas buyers to the website.
