Trip Q&A
What to wear to a concert in Korea
Dress for the month and for how long you will be on your feet. Seoul swings a lot between seasons: the average January low is −5.5 °C and the average August high is 30.0 °C (KMA 1991–2020 normals). For standing tickets, wear comfortable sneakers. We found no official information on temperatures inside the venues, so layers you can take off are the easiest way to adjust.

What to wear by season
Spring (March–May)
March is still close to winter with an average low of 1.9 °C. April averages 8.0–17.9 °C, and by May the average high reaches 23.6 °C. Days and nights differ a lot in March and April, so bring a light jacket.
Summer (June–August)
In July and August the average high is 29–30 °C and the average low stays above 22 °C, so nights don't cool down much. Breathable clothes work best. If you will queue outside for a long time before doors open, plan for the heat.
Autumn (September–November)
September can still be hot with an average high of 26.2 °C. October averages 10.6–20.2 °C, and November's average low drops to 3.5 °C. In October and November the walk home after the show gets cold, so bring an extra layer.
Winter (December–February)
Even the average high is only 2.1–5.1 °C, and the average low is −5.5 to −3.2 °C. Merch and entry queues can keep you outside for a long time, so dress warmly in layers.
Wear sneakers
NOL World's checklist for a Gocheok Sky Dome show recommends "comfortable clothes and sneakers" for long periods of standing. Beyond standing sections, you also stand a long time in entry and merch queues. We found no official rule banning heels or sandals, but comfortable shoes are the safe choice.
Winter queues and rainy days
The notice for TWS's fan meeting in March 2026 said "Please do not wait in line overnight." Even in the cold season, don't camp out; arrive in line with the times the notice gives. You will still wait outside for a while, so layers you can add or remove help.
Rain rules depend on the show. As an outdoor example, umbrellas were reportedly banned at BTS's show at Gwanghwamun on 21 March 2026. For outdoor shows, check the notice for rain-gear rules.
Is it hot or cold inside?
We found no official information from venues or shows on arena temperatures. It can differ by venue and seat, so choose an outer layer that won't be a burden to carry once you take it off. Lockers are limited at some venues, so if you plan to store a heavy coat, see the locker section of the packing checklist.
FAQ
What should I wear to a concert in Seoul in October?
October averages 15.0 °C, with an average high of 20.2 °C and an average low of 10.6 °C (normals). A long-sleeved top may be enough by day, but it gets cool after the show, so bring a light jacket.
Are heels not allowed in standing areas?
We found no official rule banning heels. NOL World's checklist does recommend sneakers because of the long standing.
Should I queue early in winter?
Don't queue overnight. TWS's fan meeting notice in March 2026 asked fans not to wait in line overnight. Entry and merch times are in your show's notice.
