Trip Q&A

Packing checklist for a concert trip to Korea

Last checked: 15 October 2026

Four things you cannot forget: your original passport, your booking details, a way to pay (card plus some Korean won in cash), and your phone with a power bank. What you can take into the venue (drinks, snacks, cameras) is decided show by show, so read your show's notice before you leave.

The must-haves

The most important item is your original passport. NOL World's checklists for TXT MOA CON 2026 (KSPO DOME), ENHYPEN and Stray Kids said foreigners need a physical, unexpired passport (or Alien Registration Card for residents), and that copies and screenshots are not accepted. You show it at the IN-PASS booth to get a wristband; pre-registering for FacePass skips the ID check. More in ID checks at Korean concerts.

Your phone holds your mobile ticket and booking and is used for lightstick seat registration, so don't let it die. We found no Korean venue rule banning power banks, and NOL's checklists recommend bringing one.

What to take into the venue

Drinks and snacks

NOL's checklists for shows at KSPO DOME and Gocheok Sky Dome allowed light snacks such as chocolate or candy and bottled water with a secure cap. Other venues and shows may differ, so check the notice.

Lightstick and spare batteries

The notice for TWS's fan meeting at ticketLINK LIVE ARENA (March 2026) said the lightstick takes three AAA alkaline batteries and that wireless control may be interrupted if they run low. Bring fresh batteries and spares. We found no official ban on unofficial lightsticks. For pairing, see Lightstick pairing.

Items that are often banned

Banned items are set per show. As an outdoor example, BTS at Gwanghwamun on 21 March 2026 reportedly allowed only water up to 500 ml and lightsticks, and banned bags larger than A3, cameras including GoPros, tablets and laptops, selfie sticks and tripods, umbrellas, stick banners, balloons and laser pointers. KCON JAPAN 2026, held in Japan, also allowed filming on phones only and restricted video cameras, tripods and selfie sticks. Both are single events; for arena shows, check the cautions in your show's notice.

Big bags and lockers

Locker information differs by venue and official sources sometimes disagree. The safe option is to drop your luggage at the hotel first.

VenueWhat we could confirmWatch out
KSPO DOMENOL World venue page: lockers at Olympic Park Station (about 7 minutes from Exit 4)Olympic Park's own guide lists no lockers. Stray Kids' show offered bag storage from 4 hours before to 30 minutes after the start, pickup until 1 hour after the end, KRW 5,000 cash only (that show only)
Gocheok Sky DomeNOL World venue page: lockers at the venue (no details), plus station lockers at Guil, Gaebong and GuroNumber and price not confirmed
INSPIRE ArenaNOL World venue page: "lockers available, varies by event"An older NOL guide (September 2024) said "no dedicated storage". Check the show notice

Travel items

  • Plug adapter: Korea uses 220 V with type C/F sockets (IBS living guide). Japanese type A plugs won't fit without an adapter. Check that your chargers support 220 V
  • Transport card: from around 17 March 2026, overseas cards work at subway machines on Lines 1–8, but reportedly only for single-journey tickets and Climate Card short-term passes (1/2/3/5/7-day), not for regular T-money top-ups (Kyunghyang Shinmun, April 2026)
  • On iPhone: from 18 March 2026 the Tmoney app has a foreigner login and accepts top-ups with overseas Mastercard, AmEx and UnionPay; Visa reportedly did not work at that time (JoongAng Daily, March 2026). More in the T-money guide
  • Some KRW cash: needed for lockers and some booths. The merch booth at TWS's fan meeting took cash and most cards, but said some cards may be declined

Pre-departure checklist (print it)

  • □ Original passport, not expired
  • □ Booking number and confirmation on screen or printed; can you log into the ticket app?
  • □ Credit card (two is safer) and some KRW cash
  • □ Phone, power bank, charging cable
  • □ Type C/F plug adapter
  • □ Lightstick, fresh AAA batteries and spares
  • □ Capped bottle of water, light snacks (check the show notice that they are allowed)
  • □ Read the cautions in the show notice (banned items, filming, bag storage)
  • □ Big luggage left at the hotel; if storing at the venue, know where the lockers are and bring cash

FAQ

Can I bring a power bank?

We found no Korean venue rule banning power banks, and NOL World's show checklists actually recommend bringing one. Still check your show's cautions.

Can I bring a camera?

Check the show notice. In single-event examples, the outdoor BTS show (March 2026) banned cameras including GoPros, and KCON JAPAN 2026 allowed filming on phones only. Filming rules are also covered in Concert etiquette.

Can I go straight to the venue with a suitcase?

Not recommended. KSPO DOME's lockers are at the station and official information on INSPIRE Arena conflicts. Whether a show offers bag storage varies, and some, like Stray Kids at KSPO DOME, set fixed hours and cash-only payment.
