Photo and filming rules at Korean concerts

Last checked: 18 October 2026

Filming rules at Korean concerts are set per show, not per venue, and appear under "notes" (유의사항) on the ticket page or in the official notice. Professional cameras are banned at almost every show. For phones it varies: banned outright, allowed only during the encore, or different by seat. The show notice is the only reliable answer, so this page shows real examples and what to look for.

Real notices (2025–2026)

Show and venuePhonesCameras and gear
Jannabi (KSPO DOME, October 2026)f'I'oor (floor) seats: no filming except during the encore. M, J and F seats: filming allowed, but staff may stop you holding the phone above your headLarge professional cameras and filming gear: banned from entry and from use
Jannabi (KSPO DOME, August 2025)Floor seats: no filming (no encore exception stated). Other seats: allowed, not above your headSame as above
Jannabi (Jamsil Indoor Stadium, December 2025)Floor seats: no filming except during the encore. Other seats: allowed (not above your head)Professional cameras and filming gear banned
Jang Han-byeol (Sejong University Daeyang Hall, Oct–Nov 2026, news report)No photos, video, audio recording or social media live streams on phones or other devices, from entry to exit—
BLUESQUARE (venue rule)All filming and recording without prior agreement banned; curtain-call filming depends on the show—
MyK FESTA (KINTEX, June 2026)—Professional cameras not allowed in the seating area, and filming with them banned everywhere; leave them at the KINTEX baggage storage

Rules can change between shows by the same artist (Jannabi, August 2025 vs October 2026). What applied last time may not apply this time.

If you film on your phone

  • "Encore only" may depend on the seat type. At Jannabi's October 2026 shows only the f'I'oor seats were limited to the encore
  • Even where filming is allowed, a phone above your head blocks the view behind you, and staff may step in (same notice)
  • Some shows say the organiser films the show and the audience may appear in broadcast or promotional footage (Jannabi)
  • At a show where filming was banned, the notice said footage would be deleted, the device held, and the person possibly removed (Jang Han-byeol, news report)

Interchangeable-lens and video cameras

Most notices ban "professional (large) cameras" or "filming gear". We found no official rule that draws the line by lens length or interchangeable lenses. Without a clear line, it is safer to leave a mirrorless, DSLR or video camera at the hotel. At MyK FESTA, attendees were told to leave such cameras at the venue's baggage storage.

Big outdoor shows can be stricter. For BTS at Gwanghwamun in March 2026, cameras including GoPros, tablets and laptops, selfie sticks and tripods were reportedly banned. For everything else you can and cannot bring, see what you can bring.

What the law says

Article 69 of Korea's Copyright Act gives performers the right to reproduce their performances (official English translation by the Korea Copyright Commission). Article 30 allows private copying, but we found no official explanation of whether that covers fans filming a concert. Either way, the show's rules are a condition of entry and apply regardless of how the law is read.

FAQ

Can I take photos with my phone?

It depends on the show. Some allow filming only during the encore, some set rules by seat, and some ban it from entry to exit. Check the ticket page and the official notice.

Can I bring a mirrorless or DSLR camera?

Most notices ban professional cameras or filming gear, and we found no official definition of "professional". Leaving it behind is safer.

What happens if I am caught filming?

Examples include deleting the footage, holding the device and removal from the venue (a 2026 show, news report). It differs by show.
